How to Change Backgrounds in Google Slides
One of the most important customizations you'll make on your Google Slides template is the changing of backgrounds.
In this section, we'll go over how you can customize the backgrounds of the different slides in your mix so they fit in perfectly with your companies brand or presentation theme:
1. Identify What Background You Want to Use
Before you even begin to start changing the background of individual slides or all of the slides in your presentation, choose the colors and/or images that you want to include. This all depends on your brand's color theme and what important images add to the presentation. Make sure you know what hex codes you want to use and have the images in a folder on your computer ready to go.
2. Change the Background Color of Individual Slides
To start changing the backgrounds in Google Slides, click on a specific slide on your presentation. Then head over the main headers on the top of the screen and click Background. This will open up the background menu.
Click the Custom header to open up the color menu where we can input our hex code so we can set the background color to our specific color for the slide that we're on.
If you want to change the background color of all your slides and once and not just individual slides, click on the Background main header button. Again choose the color from the Color menu option.
Once you've selected your desired color, click the Add to theme button on the bottom left of the menu. This will change the background color of all of the slides in your presentation.
4. Add Images to Your Background
Google Slides allows you to add images to your backgrounds quickly and easily. A great use for this feature is to add in a background image with your companies logo.
To do this, we'll again click the Background main header button and then select the Choose Image button. From there, we can click the upload button and upload a background with our companies logo.
Since we want this image present on all of our slides, we'll click the Add to theme button.
5. Reset the Theme's Background Colors and Images
If at any time you want to revert the background to the default theme's color or images, then click on the Background button and click the Reset to theme button. Your theme will now have the default background.
