Step 1

First, place two images on top of each other.

Step 2

Select the seam of the images using the Rectangular Marquee tool.

Step 3

Hit Generate in the context bar without filling in a prompt. Photoshop will connect and blend the two images in a way it thinks makes the most sense. 

You maybe have to hit generate multiple times to get a good result.

Step 4 (Optional)

Depending on the result, you can use the "Generative Fill" layers' Layer Mask to mask away and blend back some of the original image underneath.

In this example, we are bringing back the subject's original face while keeping the interetting hair design.

Step 1

Alternatively, you can use generative fill to connect and combine two images in Photoshop. Place the images you want to combine next to each other, but leave an empty section of canvas between them.

Select the empty space and part of both images using the Rectangular Marquee tool.

Step 2

Hit Generate in the context bar without filling in a prompt. Photoshop will connect the two images, taking both lighting an perspective into account.
