What You'll Need
To recreate the design above, you will need the following resources:
1. How to Start Creating a Flyer Template
First, create a new file. Go to File > New and set the Width to 4 in, Height to 6 in, and Resolution to 300 px/in.
2. How to Create Guidelines for a Photoshop Template
Now we're going to create guidelines for our pool party flyer. Press Control-R on your keyboard to show the Rulers. Then, using the Move Tool (V), click and drag from the ruler to the canvas to create a new guide. Create four guides and position each 0.25 in away from the canvas.
3. How to Create the Flyer Template Border
Step 1
In this section, we're going to create the flyer border. Choose the Rectangle Tool (U), click anywhere inside the canvas to create a new rectangle shape layer, and set the Width to 1050 px and Height to 1650 px. Then, set the Fill Solid Color to No Color, Stroke Solid Color to #000000
, and center this layer both vertically and horizontally on the canvas. Name this layer Border_1.
Step 2
Now select the Background layer, choose the Rectangle Tool (U), click anywhere inside the canvas to create a new rectangle shape layer, and set the Width to 1200 px and Height to 1800 px. Then, set the Fill Solid Color to No Color, Stroke Solid Color to #000000
, and center this layer both vertically and horizontally on the canvas. Name this layer Border_2.
4. How to Create the Background
Step 1
In this section, we are going to create the flyer background. Select the Background layer, go to File > Place Embedded, select the photo from the stock photo link, and click Place. Then, set the Angle to -90°, Width and Height to 58%, position the photo as shown below, and name this layer Photo.
Step 2
Now go to Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color to create a new solid color fill layer, name it Photo Tint, and choose the color #00bfff
.
Step 3
Select the layer mask of the Photo Tint layer, choose the Brush Tool (B), pick a soft brush, and set the foreground color to #000000
. Then, while the layer mask is selected, brush as shown below:
Step 4
Now Control-click on the Border_1 layer thumbnail to make a selection of this layer. Press Control-Shift-I on your keyboard to inverse the selection. After that, go to Edit > Fill, and set the Contents to Foreground Color, Mode to Normal, and Opacity to 100%.
Step 5
In the Properties panel, set the Density of the layer mask to 40% and change the Opacity of this layer to 50%.
Step 6
Now go to Layer > New Fill Layer > Gradient Fill to create a new gradient fill layer, name it Light Source, and use the settings below:

Position the gradient as shown below. Then, change the Opacity of this layer to 50%.

Now choose the Rectangle Tool (U), select the Border_1 layer, and set the Stroke Solid Color to #ffffff
. Then, select the Border_2 layer, and set the Stroke Solid Color to #ffffff

5. How to Create the Flyer Template Content
Step 1
In this section, we are going to create the flyer content. Select the Border_1 layer, choose the Horizontal Type Tool (T), and set the font to Metroline, font style to Script, size to 420 px, alignment to Left, and color to #ffffff
. Then, in the Character panel, set the Leading to 250 px. After that, click anywhere inside the canvas, type the text below, and position this layer with the coordinates X: 599.55 px and Y: 613.29 px.
Step 2
Right-click on this layer and choose Blending Options. Then, select and check the Drop Shadow style and use the settings below:
Step 3
Now select the Border_1 layer, choose the Horizontal Type Tool (T), and set the font to Source Sans Pro, font style to SemiBold, font size to 75 px, alignment to Center, and color to #ffffff

Then, click anywhere inside the canvas, type the text below, and in the Character panel, check the Superscript option for the specific letters shown below. After that, position this layer with the coordinates X: 599 px and Y: 1106.79 px.
Step 4
Select the Border_1 layer, choose the Horizontal Type Tool (T), and set the font to Source Sans Pro, font style to SemiBold, font size to 35 px, alignment to Center, and color to #ffffff

Then, in the Character panel, check the All Caps option, and set the Leading to 19 px and Tracking to 200. After that, click anywhere inside the canvas, type the text below, and position this layer with the coordinates X: 604 px and Y: 1181.79 px.
Step 5
Now select the Border_1 layer, choose the Horizontal Type Tool (T), and set the font to Source Sans Pro, font style to Regular, font size to 100 px, alignment to Center, and color to #ffffff

Then, in the Character panel, set the Leading to 20 px. After that, click anywhere inside the canvas, type the text below, and position this layer with the coordinates X: 599.89 px and Y: 1028.35 px.
Step 6
Press Control-J on your keyboard to duplicate this layer and drag it just above the Border_1 layer in the Layers panel.
Step 7
Now select the Border_1 layer, choose the Rectangle Tool (U), click anywhere inside the canvas to create a new rectangle shape layer, and set the Width to 1050 px and Height to 162 px. Then, set the Fill Solid Color to #e57399
and Stroke Solid Color to No Color. After that, position this layer with the coordinates X: 600 px and Y: 1449 px.
Step 8
Go to Filter > Blur > Motion Blur, and set the Angle to 0° and Distance to 400 px.
Step 9
Now Control-click on the Border_1 layer thumbnail to make a selection of this layer. Then, press Control-Shift-I on your keyboard to inverse the selection. After that, go to Layer > Layer Mask > Hide Selection to add a layer mask that hides the selected area of the layer.
Step 10
Change the Opacity of this layer to 80% and name it Banner.
Step 11
Now choose the Horizontal Type Tool (T). Set the font to Source Sans Pro, font style to Bold Italic, font size to 50 px, alignment to Center, and color to #ffffff
. Then, in the Character panel, check the All Caps option and set the Leading to 49 px and Tracking to 100. After that, click anywhere inside the canvas, type the text below, and position this layer with the coordinates X: 602.5 px and Y: 1452.15 px.
Step 12
Select the Border_1 layer, choose the Horizontal Type Tool (T), and set the font to Source Sans Pro, font style to Bold, font size to 30 px, alignment to Center, and color to #ffffff

Then, in the Character panel, check the All Caps option and set the Leading to 35 px and Tracking to 200. After that, click anywhere inside the canvas, type the text below, and position this layer with the coordinates X: 604 px and Y: 1667.28 px.
Step 13
Now Right-click on this layer and choose Blending Options. Then, select and check the Drop Shadow style and use the settings below:
Step 14
Select the Border_1 layer, choose the Rectangle Tool (U), click anywhere inside the canvas to create a new rectangle shape layer, and set the Width and Height to 160 px. Then, set the Fill Solid Color to #ffffff
, Stroke Solid Color to No Color. After that, position this layer with the coordinates X: 145 px and Y: 145 px and name it Price Background.
Step 15
Now choose the Horizontal Type Tool (T), and set the font to Source Sans Pro, font style to SemiBold, font size to 75 px, alignment to Center, and color to #e57399
. Then, click anywhere inside the canvas, type the text below, and position this layer with the coordinates X: 145 px and Y: 135.27 px.
Step 16
Choose the Horizontal Type Tool (T), click on the text of the current text layer to edit it, and start a new line. Then, set the font to Source Sans Pro, font style to SemiBold, font size to 25 px, alignment to Center, and color to #e57399
. After that, in the Character panel, check the All Caps option, set the Leading to 35 px, and type the text below.
